Nobu Hotel & Residences Danang: Vietnam's First Nobu Lands on My Khe Beach

The first Nobu Hotel, Restaurant & Residences in Vietnam is rising on My Khe Beach: a 43-story beachfront tower pairing 200 hotel rooms with 264 branded residences, opening 2026.

Vietnam gets its first Nobu on a Da Nang beach

Nobu, the hotel, restaurant and lifestyle brand built by chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, is opening its first hotel, restaurant and residences in Vietnam, and it is landing in Da Nang. The development rises on My Khe Beach as a single 43-story, 186-metre tower that stacks a Nobu hotel, the brand's signature restaurant and a collection of branded residences into one beachfront address.

What is inside the tower

The tower holds 200 hotel rooms and suites, 18 of them suites, alongside 264 branded residences: one, two and three-bedroom homes plus two penthouses. Guests and residents share the full Nobu hospitality stack, including the signature restaurant, a wellness and fitness floor and event space built for weddings and social functions. It is a mixed-use vertical resort, with homes upstairs and dining and leisure below.

Who is building it

The project is developed by Viet Capital Real Estate (VCRE), a boutique luxury developer within the Phoenix Holdings group, and operated under the Nobu Hospitality brand. The tower was designed by David Malott, the architect behind three of the world's fifteen tallest skyscrapers, including Hong Kong's International Commerce Centre and the Shanghai World Financial Center. The hotel is slated to open in 2026, with residence handovers scheduled for the third quarter of 2027.

Where it sits

You will find it at the intersection of Vo Van Kiet and Vo Nguyen Giap in Ngu Hanh Son, directly on My Khe, the long beach running south from the Son Tra peninsula. One note for the record: despite some marketing lines, this is not Da Nang's tallest building. At 186 metres it sits below the Wyndham Soleil complex and well below the 408-metre Da Nang Downtown tower now under construction on the Han River.

Why it matters

A global luxury brand planting its first Vietnam flag in Da Nang, rather than Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, says something about where the coast is headed. Da Nang absorbed more than 8,000 new condo units across 2024 and 2025, and branded residences like Nobu sit at the very top of that wave, where buyers pay a premium for the name, the management and the address. Whether this is the start of a genuine luxury market on My Khe or the high-water mark of a fast-building city is the open question, and Nobu is the clearest test of it yet.
